This torso-first, neck-free approach helps kids play, run, and jump without a cape pulling at their throat. How is this cape safer than a neck-tie cape?
The Super Safe Capes wraps under the arms, not around the neck, to help avoid neck pressure during active play.
What size should I pick?
Measure shoulder-to-shoulder across the upper back and around the arm, clostest to the armpit or where the strap will secure. Choose the closest size in inches. If your child measure's outside the standard sizes, just email me the dimensions and I'll send you a PayPal link to purchase the cape. If your child doesn't measure within the sizes in the chart, don't buy the cape and email me the child's dimensions!
Where is it made?
Each cape is handmade in Columbus, Ohio in small batches and inspected before shipping.
How do I care for it?
Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Hang or lay flat to dry. Avoid bleach and high heat.
What ages does the Super Safe Cape fit?
We size by shoulder-to-shoulder width, not age. Most preschool and early-elementary kids fall within our options, but measuring is the best way to ensure a comfy, secure fit.
Will it stay on while kids run and play?
Yes—the under-arm wrap sits across the shoulders and secures to the torso, so it’s designed to stay put without neck pull during active play.
How do the straps feel?
The elastic is soft and encased under the arms (no hard edges, no neck tie). It’s made for comfort during everyday dress-up.
Is adult supervision recommended?
Always supervise play. Remove the cape during sleep, car-seat use, bike rides, or on playground equipment, and keep away from open flame/heat sources.
Can I add my child’s name or request custom colors?
This limited run is produced as shown, so personalization isn’t available for this pattern. We’re exploring future designs and the ability to request changes or additions — join our list to hear first.
How long will my order take?
Each cape is handmade to order. Please allow time for sewing plus shipping; we’ll email updates after purchase.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
We primarily ship within the U.S. If you’re outside the U.S., contact us and we’ll let you know current options and costs.
What if I measured wrong?
No worries—we include one free alteration on your first order to fine-tune the fit. Email us with your order number and the corrected measurement. We just ask that you pay for shipping both ways when an alteration occurs. If a second alteration is needed we'll charge accordingly.
Is it safe for toddlers?
The design helps avoid neck pressure by wrapping under the arms, but adult supervision is still required. If your child is very young or sensitive to elastic, try short play sessions first. Do not let the child sleep with the cape. Do not let the child play around moving machinery with the cape on.
What happens when the 1,000-piece run sells out?
